Outreach Ministries
- Missions - East Side Church of God has, since its very beginnings demonstrated a special burden for the spreading of the gospel of Christ throughout the world. We "tithe" from our yearly budget to support missions locally, nationally and internationally. In addition to that budget, East Side holds once each year a "Faith Promise" month during when members of the congregation commit to support a special missions fund. East Side supports one "Staff"
missionary family and five "Living Link" missionaries:
Jen Sigl,
Ayalas,
Bistritans,
Mondragons,
Sellers, and
Wests.
- Servanthood Saturdays - One Saturday
each month, Servanthood Saturdays volunteers extend the
hand of Jesus into the community. Different projects are planned with opportunities to
involve children, youth, college students and adults. Ministry projects include tasks such
as cleaning windows, picking up trash, and mowing lawns. Most projects do not require
special skills or abilities, only a willing spirit and a servant's heart.
Servanthood Saturdays is East Side's opportunity to share the love of
Christ, meet needs in our community, and have fun all at the same time. Sign-ups each
month are included in the Sunday worship folder.
- Prison Ministry - Once Sunday
evening a month, volunteers from East Side worship with prisoners at
the Correctional Industrial Complex in Pendleton, IN.
- Upper Room Prayer Ministry - The
Upper Room is a special area of the church set aside for intercessory
prayer. Volunteers sign up for one-hour blocks of time, which they
spend praying for specific needs within our congregation, community,
state, nation and world. The Upper Room features nine special areas
dedicated to specific prayer concerns, such as the church staff, the
government, physical needs, and missions concerns, to name a few. Each
area is filled with requests, testimonies, pictures and scriptures for
use in prayer.
