APD Block Party at East Side

If you drive past the church this coming Saturday, August 18, between 11:00AM and 1:00PM, you'll see something going on. It will be a block party hosted by the Anderson Police Department and the Neighborhood Crime Watch.
The APD has been having a series of block parties around the city this summer. For the party on the east side of town, they asked to use East Side Church's parking lot. The block party provides police and community residents an opportunity to meet in a fun, non-adversarial event and get to know one another.

There will be a bounce house and other fun activities for children and families, as well as demonstrations by K9 officers, motorcycles, police Hummer and fire truck equipment. There will be free hot dogs, chips and snow cones.
You may want to come and bring your kids and grandkids. It sounds like fun.
The APD and Crime Watch people are doing everything. However, volunteers from East Side are invited to join in to show the church's hospitality. If you are interested in volunteering, contact Pastor Jason Fries (jfries@eschog.org) or contact Eva at the Community Police Division 648-6674.
